Welcome to The Friday Wrap for October 27th, 2017! Here is the link to this week’s video which was filmed from Jen's Guesthouse. Best known for Steaks, Seafood & Wine, it is a more casual version of the old Cortright's Restaurant in Willow Springs which was re-opened by the nephew, Mike Cortight and named after his wife: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1SO2Ujamm4.
Village Board Meeting:
A couple of milestones were hit at the Regular Meeting of the Mayor and Board of Trustees that was held on Monday. First, after months of review, consideration and approved at earlier stages , the Ordinance to approve the Lakeside Pointe project by McNaughton Development located adjacent to the Marriottwas approved unanimously! Also, after being on the market for years, the Village of Burr Ridge accepted an offer/contract to sell village property on German Church Road known as the Pump Center Propertyfor $1.9 Million with no contingencies or re-zoning requests pending. Though it won’t be done right away, funds from this sale are earmarked to pay down the loan on the police station.
Also discussed at length, was potential restrictions that could be made on the hours that construction or landscaping work can be performed on Sundays. This topic is being addressed after numerous residents requested that the village restrict work on Sunday mornings to allow for a little more peace and quiet one day a week. There was a recommendation to direct staff to get more resident input about potentially limiting it from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm before taking any additional action.
In other news, there is a lot of Tree Trimming going on in the village around ComEd power lines.
Hampton Social Update:
Here are a few more pictures of the inside of Hampton Social taken now that the flooring and several other items have been installed. I am scheduled to film next week’s Friday Wrap from there. BIG NEWS: Hampton Social is planning to open on November, 9th!!
My Campaign Kick-off for State Rep:
Thank you to everyone who attended my Campaign Kick-off this week, especially Lena and Tony Fakhouri for hosting the event and Hall of Famer Dan Hampton and his wife for also getting involved to make a difference. Attended by over one hundred people, they thought that they were coming because of me, but in reality, I was there because of them. If it wasn’t for all of you who share my concern for Illinois’ future, I wouldn’t be running for Illinois State Representative in the 82nd District. This was not part of my plan, but "When we make plans, God laughs”. Unfortunately, “The State is on the Wrong Path and the Republican Party here seems to have lost their way.” It’s not a choice for any of us, it’s our future. Thank you for stepping up! On a Personal Note . . .
After noticing the tremendous success that other companies are having with animated characters, we created one for our company to market our products. Because our company is nicknamed “SAM”, which is short for Sales Activity Management, we created SAM Guy.
By the way, if you don’t already know, you can access this Friday Wrap, as well as all previous 240+ editions from my mayor website: www.MayorMickey.com.
That's a Wrap...make it a great week!
